Local and national designers are using their creative talent to lend support to Las Vegas after the mass shooting on October 1st. Whether it is creating emotional designs that tell a story or creating custom work for fundraising efforts, the examples of compassionate designers are flooding the Las Vegas community.
The outpouring of creative collateral to raise money for the Las Vegas Victims Fund has been overwhelming. Below are a list of designers and their fundraising efforts.
Local Las Vegas designer David Resto has created a sticker campaign.
Michelle Meksavanh and Jimi Ramirez have partnered with local business to produce this collateral. 100% of the proceeds will be matched dollar-for-dollar by BRAINTRUST, a local advertising agency. The grand total will be doubled by Zappos.com’s CrowdRise.

AIGA Reno Tahoe member Connor Goicoechea created this awesome t-shirt design.

Red Rock Resorts Foundation & Shepard Fairey’s Studio Number One collaborate on collection of “Vegas Strong” Tees.
The effects of the outreach have been positive as designers pull from their strengths to help those in dire straits.
In addition to fundraising efforts, designers have also been tasked to create work that is telling the story of our city. People often look for imagery and symbols of hope after tragic events. In the editorial field, designers are working on tight deadlines to make an impact with their designs. This is not an easy assignment to be given but local designers such as Ian Racoma, David Sly and Cierra Pedro have all risen to the occasion. You can see examples of their work below.

Local ad agency R&R partners are also doing their part to help our community. R&R partners are the agency of record for Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and are most noted for creating the slogan “what happens here stays here”. They were quick to put up billboards around the city focusing on two lines of copy, “We’ve been there for you during the good times. Thank you for being there for us now.”
